March AC’s Liberty Sibthorp wins junior age category 3K race at the Peterborough Grand Prix series at Eye
March AC members ran the first event in the Peterborough Grand Prix series at Eye last Wednesday.
The event featured a 3K and a 5K race and attracted a total of 34 runners from the club.
In the 3K race, Liberty Sibthorp led the way for the juniors, finishing the race in 11min45sec to win her age category. Rowan Whittlesey and Max Revell were next across the line with just one second between the pair.
The 5K saw Steve Beasley lead the way in 17.50 with Mark Godfrey finishing 16 seconds later. Serge Lambert was third home for March AC, achieving a win in his age category.
Kanina O'Neil was the first lady for March with a strong performance in a time of 19.08. Michelle Prior finished the race in 22.01 followed by Tina Lambert in 23.33.
At the weekend, two March AC runners were competing in races at Sandringham. Sasha Bland raced the 5K and finished the difficult course in 26.02. Wayne Kent ran the 10K race and had a strong run, achieving a time of 59.09 to beat the hour mark.
