Goals from Jack Saunders, Gary Smith two and Ben Matthews two as Lilies go 5-2 up

Chatteris Town FC equalled their best efforts during the last 10 seasons on Saturday when notching a 10th win in a row.

The Lilies beat both the weather and Somersham with a 5-4 win on the road in Cambs Kershaw Senior A – the only game in the division to survive the frozen pitches.

Goals came from Jack Saunders, Gary Smith two and Ben Matthews two. The Lilies were 5-2 up and Somersham clawed back twice.

The 2015/16 squad also achieved the same amount of wins on the trot en route to promotion from Senior A. The next biggest run was eight wins in a row from the 2009/10 title winners.

Chatteris host Cottenham United next Saturday.

Second in Mead Plant & Grab 3B, Outwell Swifts, sailed through in the Cambs Lower Junior Cup 7-1 at Cottenham United Reserves and on target were James Allen, Jack Brand, Ben Jimson 3 and Ben Longmuir 2.

Peterborough League runaway Division One leaders FC Parson Drove still enjoy an 11-point lead over Uppingham Town despite being held 1-1 at Crowland Town. Ashley Symonds netted on 55 minutes for Drove at the Snowden Playing Fields.
