Saracens returned to winning ways with this hard-fought King’s Lynn Sunday League victory against a strong Young Boys.

A pinpoint free kick from Dan Smethurst got them off to a good start, which was followed by an own goal.

MoM Daniel Cassidy grabbed a third with a great 30-yard strike.

In the second half Saries withstood long periods of pressure and had to play out the final 20 minutes with 10 men as injuries took their toll.

Upwell Town’s match at Chatteris Fen Tigers was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The team have found out their John Ablett Cup final opponents in the presently unbeaten AFC Barley Mow.

This match will take place on Thursday, March 31, at Ely City’s ground, 7:30 ko.

Benwick Athletic threw away a strong 60 minutes against high-flying Gunners.

After going a goal down, Lee Bailey scored with a brilliant chip to equalise. Benwick went in 1-2 down at half-time.

Some ‘interesting’ decisions and own goals from Anthony Welney-Chamberlain and Kieran Oldroyd led to defeat.


John Trower’s Upwell Reserve team got back to winning ways, with a fantastic 6-1 win at Cottenham A.

The reserves took the lead through Aaron Marshall before conceding a penalty.

Matt Bruce notched a brace before half-time to ensure the visitors went in 3-1 up.

Bruce grabbed another three goals to take his tally to five goals in two games.
