March Athletics Club host Frostbite race




March Athletics Club put on a Frostbite race - and the event most certainly stuck true to its name.

The senior team performed amazingly and earned third place on the day. The juniors also starred, which saw them place second.

David Burgees led the way for the team in blue as he completed the course in 32:40. Mark Godfrey was next home for March in 34:43, followed by Tim Brammer and Kanina O’Neil, who had a competitive sprint finish.

The club women’s team continued their fine form as Emma Tuck and Toni Alcaraz finished in around the 36 minute mark.

Luke Cumbridge finished third in the Junior event in 08:53. Next home was Serge Lambert in 10:05. Archie Bullman and Archie Mcclure also both finished in the top 20. Maisie Whittlesey was first back for the girls as she completed the 1.5 mile course in 11:45. Liberty Sibthorp was next for the girls in 11:55.

Some youngsters competed in the School Cambridgeshire Cross Country event. Luke was the star as he qualified for the East Anglian Schools Cross Country event.

Geraldine Larham and Andrew Larham ran the Brass Monkey Half Marathon Geraldine was back in 1:38:08. Andrew wasn’t far behind in 1:41:08.
