The Hares’ first friendly of the season was an entertaining one.

A squad of 17, with five new players, put in a solid performance against the Saints.

Early chances fell to either team and Hares keeper Tori Sharpe made a great one-handed save.

It was WSM who took the lead with a well-worked goal by Josie Turner. The Hares responded quickly with an equaliser.

Another good move involving Megan Webb, Emma Frost and finished by Louise Barbour made it 1-1 at half-time.

The second half also started brightly with Wisbech St Mary’s Catherine Ray restoring the lead for the opponents.

Dani Westgate and Naomi McGarvie were linking well and Westgate scored from 20 yards to equalise for the Hares.

March Town took the lead when McGarvie scored from close range.

The game continued to go end-to-end and it was a fair result of a draw when Wisbech St Mary equalised through Turner with 10 minutes to go.

There were lots of positives from the game for the Hares with the new players settling well and some strong game spells for the Hares.
