Long Sutton rued missed opportunities in a tight game.
Sutton started brightly moving the ball well and created some good opportunities. However it was Walden who opened the scoring against the run of play despite some excellent defending from Gavaghan.
Sutton were rewarded when a beautiful short corner routine allowed Sisson to deflect the ball into the net. Fyson found the corner with a lovely drag flick from a short corner by half-time.
Sisson fired the ball into the goal; then Sutton had chances to kill the game off but lacked the killer instinct.
Sutton tired and Walden took advantage. Walden scored twice to level and then were fortunate to take the lead as the ball deflected off Fyson’s stick.

In a rearranged game, Sutton had to cope with a number of changes with lads stepping up from the Thirds against a strong Wisbech team.
Luke Jackson’s finish from an Alex Canham pass had the travelling fans celebrating. Sutton could have increased their lead but for good defending from the experienced Wisbech back line; James Grant, Dan Oldfield and Adam Sisson finding space in the midfield.
From the first short corner for Wisbech they equalised – 1-1 at half-time.
Wisbech won it with two goals in the last five minutes.

Debutants Lewis Shooter and Tom Burton coped well with the much larger Spalding attackers.
Spalding scored first but Sutton were rewarded by a short corner converted ably by Gary Hales by half-time.
Spalding caught Sutton napping with two simple goals. Simon Thompson played some long through balls, one of which was picked up by Lovegrove and smashed into the net.
