Chatteris ABC has had a very successful boxing year on a championship level and within the community.

This is the seventh year that the Chatteris club has supported the Royal British Legion; selling poppies, walking in the parade and laying a wreath on Remembrance Sunday. The children also do litter picking and this year have supported the Rotary Club to deliver the Chatteris town guides.

Three Eastern Counties titles were won this season; by Stephen Skeels, Dean Baxter and Ryan Ducker. The latter two went on to the national quarter-finals. Baxter lost a very hard fought contest. Layfield went on to the National ABA final to lose a split decision and Ducker from Chatteris lost a close encounter. Barrett went through and won the National ABA title.

Other Juniors had a good season with George Chrysanthou winning two out of three bouts and hot shot Ryan Williams (12) eight wins from eight fights.

The club look forward to next season and welcome youngsters to join. The club opens Monday-Thursday 4.30pm-6.30pm and Saturday mornings 8.30-10am, for more details ring coach Paul on 01354 695211.
