Award coup for Fletcher

On Friday evening Parkfield Archers held their annual awards for the 2011 season at Parkfield Sports Club, Wimblington.

Presentations were made to – Field Shoot Awards: Barebow Junior Recurve – Jacob Mann, Junior Longbow – Harry Silvester; Senior Barebow – John Loveridge and Senior Longbow – James Fletcher.

Summer Sizzler – James Fletcher; Frostbite – Nigel Lucas; Mark Langford Cup: Junior – Michael Fletcher and Senior – John Claydon.

End of Season Recurve Winners went to Junior – Andrew Charter and Senior – Robert Young.

Barnett Couriers Longbow Shoot: Junior – Harry Silvester and Senior – Steven Hutchcraft. St Claire Building Shield, Most Improved Junior Archer – Harry Silvester. Knowles Transport Shield, Most Improved Senior – John Loveridge.

GNAS (Grand National Archery Society) Medal – overall most improved – John Loveridge.

Club Champions were Barebow – Roger Watson; Compound – John Loveridge; Camcare Gels Longbow Shield, Longbow Club Champion – James Fletcher and Moss Nichols Cup, Recurve Club Champion – Richard Silvester.

The Ridgeons Cup, presented to the person who has contributed the most to the club: Steven Hutchcraft

This year saw a new award, the GNAS Presidents Medal, given by the sport’s governing body in celebration of 150 years, in recognition to a club member who has both supported archery, their club and personal achievement.

This was presented to James Fletcher in recognition of attaining a Bowman Award for Longbow and also for all his work both recently and in the past as a committee member.
