B team draw in a home thriller

Wisbech Ladies B team had a thrilling home match with Stamford D in the Hunts 
and Peterborough League, drawing 4-4.

Nicola Groves and young Lorna Cochrane playing in her first match lost the first set 3-6, then went on to have a thrilling tie break winning the second set 7-6 and 1-6 3-6. The other pair of Seija Knox and Jane Goodley were in command from the start and beat their Stamford opponents 6-3 6-3 3-6 6-1 with some outstanding tennis.

Wisbech Ladies A of Sheila Hennessey, Pauline Maris, Claire Brown and Seija Knox lost away to a strong Thorpe Wood C 6-2, then Sheila Hennessey, Margaret Mee, Pauline Maris and Sue Pitcher took on a commanding Thorpe Wood B at home and lost 8-0.
