Wisbech’s stay in Division 2 North lasted just one season - other results mean Wisbech are relegated.

Sam Blunt opened the scoring with a strong run from halfway and a reverse stick finish. Ipswich got an equalising goal. Alex Jones at the back post made it 2-1 at half-time.

Stand-in captain Gary Freear said the performance was good, but not great. Wisbech managed to find something extra in the second half. Blunt completed his hat-trick and Tim Atkins added Wisbech’s fifth.

On Saturday Wisbech finish the season away to Bury St Edmunds.

Wisbech had to win by a substantial margin to have any chance of staying in division 3NW.

Wisbech sought a win in their last away game of the season.

Wisbech dominated from the start. Before half time, Wisbech won a short corner and captain Verity Allen pulled the ball back to Leanne Williamson who whipped the ball across the goal line and Lisa Williamson slotted it home.

The second half saw a replica of the first goal, this time Leanne Williamson converted. Next weekend they host Bury St Edmunds in the last game of the season at 1pm.
