St Ives 1sts 0,
Wisbech Tn Ladies 1sts 1
WISBECH secured them-selves promotion into the Premier League and winners of the East League Division 1 North.
Knowing that a victory would finally keep Wisbech at the top of the table, the game started pacy but at times Wisbech failed to produce a final touch. The vital goal came in the first half from midfield to Clare Apted.
In the second half Wisbech were always the stronger side but need to concentrate on St Ives’ breaks.
Debutant goal keeper Kimberley Stimpson made some important saves yet Wisbech did not concede any penalty corners so any pressure on defending was confidently dealt with.
Two more home games will complete the season and they hope to retain their unbeaten run. Saturday: 1pm against Ipswich 3.

THE Cambridgeshire League have ordered an investigation into the match after the Second XI pulled a crucial win out of the hat to avoid relegation from the Premier Division.
The only goal came three minutes in, inspired by hard work from Joey Gomm and a series of passes from Shelly Jones, to Gilly Dunn for daughter Katie Dunn to convert.
Player of the match could have been four or five players, and was won by Gabby Allsop, who worked doubly hard to support the injured sweeper. A much improved performance on last week.
