WISBECH players Jerry Irving and Tim Hines were part of a successful Runcton Holme ‘A’ team which finished runners-up in Division One of the King’s Lynn Table Tennis League and also scooped a handicap tournament win.
The Pegg Scaffolding Team Handicap Cup was played at Lynsport between the Runcton squad and Runcton ‘B’.
The ‘B’ team had a 73 point start but a maximum from Irving and two apiece from Hines and John Mingay resulted in a 28 point win overall for the ‘A’ team.
Irving has returned to table tennis after a 30 year gap and Hines has also had a long spell away from the game.
They were joined by Mingay, David Lane and Wisbech player Derek Windsor for their second place league spot, losing out one winning the league by one point.
