DAVID Beldom (16) from March became the youngest-ever winner of the Spedeworth 2 Litre Stock Car East Anglian Championship during only his third ever meeting at the Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich.
The Neale-Wade Community College student led from start to finish in the final and drove like a veteran after performing well in the preliminary two races on April 9.
David, who has raced in junior formulas, said: “When I was 16 I was unable to race in junior formulas any more so I decided to race in the 2 Litre Stock cars, with the promoter Spedeworth Motorsport, as my dad does them.
“I used my dad’s car at Wimbledon stadium in London in my first race meeting.”
The formula 2 Litre Stock cars are a Ford Sierra based formula, maintaining their original silhouettes. Some contact is permitted but full contact is not.
