A busy weekend for Fenland Running Club started on Saturday at the Frostbite Friendly League Presentation Evening where Paul Arnold and Maire Irlam were presented with their awards of Male and Female Runner of the Series by chairman Adrian Jarvis.
The following day saw nine FRC runners taking part among 253 finishers in the Thorney 10K race. Excellent, surprisingly cool running conditions, contributed to several members running PBs.
Jack Trow stormed home with a PB of 34.29 and took 3rd place senior male prize.
Other results: Aidy Martin with a good run after injuries in 39.0, Richard Hammond 40.54 (PB), Dan Wate 41.49 (PB), Adam Chown 43.36 (PB), Colin Ferguson 44.15, Ann Trett 45.01 (PB), Ian Milburn 45.35 and Nick Meekins 56.28.
Sarah Rippon ran in the City of Lincoln 10K road race and in a massive field of 4375 finishers finished 3,266th in a time of 1.01.34.
l Four March AC members raced The Thorney 10k on Sunday morning. First back for the club was Wayne Stimson 41.27 (49th), followed by Darren Moat 44.53 (90th), Harry Littlemore 51.27 (152nd) and Fay Scrivener 54.13 (176th), as 253 runners finished the race.
