Early Bath for Neal

March AC athlete Melissa Neal put in a strong performance at the Bath half marathon to finish 22nd lady and 4th in her vet35 category.

She ran a time of 1hr 23 mins 12 secs for the two-lap course in very warm conditions. Her overall position was 175th out of over 10,000 finishers.

Two March AC Runners took part in the 13.1 mile Adidas Silverstone Half Marathon around the world famous Formula 1 circuit which had over 6,350 finishers. Debra Wait crossed the line in 235th position overall, 16th lady in the race and won the first Vet 45 prize with a time of 1 hour 31 minutes and 54 seconds.

Andy Goakes finished 446th overall, 419th male out of 4,128 men with a time of 1 hour 37 minutes and 31 seconds.

Fenland Running Club members took part in half marathons on Sunday. Lisa Jermey, Keith White and Dave Hood took part in the Silverstone. Lisa took 2 minutes off her previous best for this circuit in a time of 1.42.20. Keith White finished in 1.49.35 and Dave Hood finished in 1.57.35.

In the Grantham AC Newton’s Fraction Half Marathon, Pasquale Ruggerio was first home for Fenland in a time of 1.47.50 and Richard Williams was next in 1.57.45. Roger Williams finished just 20 seconds behind his son in a time of 1.58.05.
