Fenland Running Club had a busy week with 23 competing in the first of five Peterborough 5K Grand Prix series which started on Wednesday, three at the Nottingham Notts AC 10-mile around the Holmes Pierrepont National Water Centre on Friday and Justin Showell who ran at Swansea on Sunday.
The Notts 10-Mile was raced through a deluge of rain but FRC runners still had good races.
Clive Harrod was first FRC home in 144th place in a time of 1:12:02. Ian Milburn was 161st and first MV70 in 1:13:38 and Paulina Zub was 237th in 1:21:35 (PB), 333 finishers.
Showell was 489th in a field of 3,391 at the Swansea Half Marathon in a time of 1:40:36.
The top three FRC runners at the 5K at Ferry Meadows were Stuart Follen, Rod Sinnott and Paul Griffin who were 51st, 53rd and 54th with just six seconds separating them.
They were followed by Tim Chapman in 82nd place – all breaking the magical 20-minute barrier.
