With the approach of the Spring marathon season, Fenland Running Club runners were out in force for the Folksworth 15-mile race south of Peterborough.
Twenty five athletes raced the hilly two-lap course in blustery conditions and several came home with personal bests.
First home for the club was Ryan Jones in 1:36-30, which placed him 23rd in a field of 421 finishers. Just outside the top 50, Rod Sinnott and Tim Chapman chased after him, in a field of 421 finishers.
Sarah Gauvin led the ladies home, but one of the best performances of the day was by Larissa Follen, who bagged a personal best by six minutes. Likewise, Sarah Rippon knocked seven minutes off her previous year’s time.

n Some 21 members of March AC turned out and Dawn Veal, Michelle Seward and Amy Ellis put in personal best times. Mick Stacey was first home for the club in an impressive 49th place and scooping 2nd in his Vet Category.
Also clinching a 2nd vet prize was Geraldine Larham and 69th overall.
