March born Power Lifter Louise Fox (pictured) was crowned Peterborough Sportswoman 2011 at a presentation evening organised by Peterborough Evening Telegraph and sponsored by local industry.
Louise, daughter of March couple Wendy and Winston Fox, took up Power Lifting after being spotted in a gymnasium while holidaying at Lanzarote with her family in 2007.
She has since dominated her under 55.5kg bodyweight sector and retained her World Single Lift event in Chicago, setting two new world records. Later she won the Combined World Title in Glasgow to retain the Full Power Championship where all three lifts are counted to find overall best lifter.
Louise trains at March and District Weightlifting Gym on her many visits to her parents’ home in March. She manages to combine strict training with her work as manager at Impington Village College.
