Fenland Running Club’s Ladies repeated their success at the Heckington 10 mile by also taking the Ladies team prize at the Ely Runners Grunty Fen Half Marathon on Sunday.
An undulating course with good weather has potential for a PB but everyone finishing was complaining about hitting a strong headwind for three miles leading back to the finish. Despite this, Maire Irlam, Sarah Gauvin and Nicky Jennings finished first team in the huge field of 524. Irlam was also 2nd LV45 and took 3rd place in the Cambs County Championship element of the race.

Colin Simpson took part in the demanding Ashbourne Half Marathon in the Peak District and finished as 1st V60 in 1:45:15.
l Eleven March AC runners took part in the annual Grunty Fen half marathon on Sunday.
First home for the club was Andrew Larham with a time of 1 hour 31 minutes and 31 seconds giving him an impressive 61st place overall. Geraldine Larham was first lady home with a personal best time of 1.37 and 105th overall.
