Jordan Gill hopes a new weight loss programme will bear fruit for his sixth pro bout at Peterborough on Saturday.
Gill will be fighting three six-minute rounds for the first time, and the Chatteris teenager said: “It’s a little different and I definitely can’t wait. I have been training extremely hard towards championship-level boxing.
“We’ve got good local support, which is always appreciated. I’ve been doing extremely good sparring with Kid Galahad for his fight with Isaac Netty, which was on Channel 5 last week; and sparring with Lee Wood.
“My diet has changed and the weight has come off. My heart rate was monitored and they are charting my progress. We’ll see some improvements.
“My manager John Ingle has also mentioned a title fight in September.”
