Wisbech Grammar School have signalled their rising rugby skills after romping to an emphatic series of victories against the King’s School, Ely last week.
In six matches played by members of the under 13 and under 12 teams at the senior school and the under 11 teams at the preparatory school, Magdalene House, the Wisbech boys notched up a total of nearly 200 points with only 71 scored against them.
Playing at home the senior school players powered to a 4-0 whitewash, with the under 13 As winning 24-12, the under 13 B side securing a 53-0 victory, the under 12 A team winning 43-0 and the under 12 B boys ending on a score line of 42-10.
On the Ely ground the under 11 A side secured a 24-12 victory and the under 11 B team went down 30-7 against the home team.
The Grammar School’s master in charge of rugby, Mr Ben Hoyles, said: “We have got a great set of results from the junior sides and we are pushing players to develop further at the higher age groups, with seven of the older boys who are now representing the Leicester Tigers Elite Player Development Group.”
