Grammar’s flying start

WISBECH Grammar School’s hockey players have made a flying start to the new season.

The first team have won their three opening games, scoring eight goals and conceding only three, against Bedford Modern, Stamford and King’s School, Peterborough. The top scorers at this stage are Ellena Plumb and Cesca Brindley with four goals.

The under 13 side have scored seven goals without conceding and also remain unbeaten in the opening weeks of the season.

The girls’ success follows a successful pre-season tour to Worksop and Leicester for the first and second teams and a hockey training camp for the under 13 and under 12 squads.
