LSHC Ladies 1, Alford 1

Draw specialists Long Sutton Ladies have now won 6, drawn 6 and lost only one.

Sarah Walker, Leanne Woodhead and Lisa Baker went close before on 25 minutes Tania White broke on the edge of the D and made a smart pass to Hannah Greenacre who lifted the ball neatly over the sprawling keeper.

Player of the match was Jessica Hudson. Next Saturday Long Sutton travel to Lincoln in East League NW2 and with an eye still on leaders Letchworth and second placed Bedford both who they still have to play.

LSHC Mens’ 2, Ipswich 5

Long Sutton started this Prem B fixture again at a very leisurely pace as sloppy play gifted Ipswich three goals in the first 15 minutes.

Sisson unleashed a trademark reverse stick thunderbolt into the top corner to give Sutton hope before half-time.

The second half was a different affair as Sutton were much more fluid and dominant, but the Ipswich keeper was in outstanding form. Fyson calmly slotted home after good work from Sisson.

With the Sutton defence and MoM Cliff playing brilliantly, they kept their current form and the Green Army in the game. Scorers: Ben Shore 3 and Wiles. A good result putting Sutton fourth.

A fine and deserved victory against their high flying visitors.
