March secured their first victory of the season with a goal from Adam Graham.

The victory ended a run of eight successive defeats.

Graham, the first team skipper, said: “I am delighted with the result and continued hard work has started to pay off.”

March were outpaced and outclassed by the younger, fitter St Ives team on Saturday.

March’s Hugh Whittome left the pitch half way through the second period with a shoulder injury.

And that left them effectively three men short after Charlie Boughton and Gary Howsam clashed heads leaving the former with a split nose and the latter somewhat dazed.

The home team scored three good goals quickly and denied the visitors a token goal when Howsam’s penalty flick was superbly saved.

March’s third team lost 8-3 against Horncastle.
