WISBECH Wheelers Cycling Club veteran Denese Hallahan has been relentless this week having raced four times in seven days.
On Monday she and Becky Taylor battled very strong winds in the VC Barrachi ‘10’ near Bungay. Becky recorded 26.52 and Denese 33.00.
They were there once again in the Wisbech evening TT. Fireman Mat Buckler was definitely on fire, recording a new pb of 25.16 and taking several scalps into the bargain.
On Saturday Becky and Denese were off to Bungay for the Godrick CC Promotion where they took 25.27 and 28.11 respectively making Becky first lady home.
On Sunday in the Wisbech open 25 mile competition local fast man Paul Ashby had to settle for second with 54.55 when the course record was smashed by top rider Nino Piccoli from the Pedal Revolution club, who ignored the strong crosswinds and posted a remarkable 51.24.
Third was Gary Rushmoor of King’s Lynn CC on 55.36. New Wisbech rider Doug McLure is worthy of mention having recorded 1.2.59 in his first ‘25’ and was fourth Wisbech Wheeler back.
