THE HILL Street Gym has moved to new premises just 20 metres from their old gym in Wisbech.
Derek Grange, a long-serving gym member, said: “We have moved into the old printers workshop adjacent to Scrimshaw’s Passage in Hill Street but are still part of the Wisbech Social Club and Institute and still on the front of Hill Street.
“We had to move from our old rooms because the Institute need to refurbish them for forthcoming projects to generate additional income. We moved over the Christmas period and Jason Loates and Nicky Satt, who now run the gym, would like to thank all members who donated their time and effort with the move, which involved moving very heavy equipment.
“There has been a gymnastic club or gym at the Institute for over 40 years, I have been training here for 30 years. They felt they had to keep the tradition going. We are a small club, with approximately 25 members, and everybody helps with the running of it.”
Anyone interested in some fitness and weight training can call in at the gym on Monday, Wednesday or Friday evenings from 5pm.
