Hot Shotz duo increase their trophy haul

THE North Witchford Darts League held the League Singles and Pairs competitions during its Finals Night at the GER Sports Club, March, on Friday.

Once again Lee Kempley (Sportsman A) was in fine individual form, taking the singles title over league secretary, Mark Cross (GER Souls). GER Hot Shotz’ Chris Nash and Pete Church added the League Pairs title to their Summer League title, beating team-mates Martin King and Shaun Taylor.

Pairs, Quarter Finals: Bob Avenell and Bob Harrington (Chatteris WMC C) beat Paul Mearman and Steve Williams (Parkfield); Chris Nash and Pete Church (GER Hot Shotz) beat John Rutterford and Bob Albiston (Rose & Crown); Martin King and Shaun Taylor (GER Hot Shotz) beat Luke Fage and Dan Beaney (Station Hotel); Brian Jones and Sean Bland (GER Turtles) beat Mark Cross and Paul Wright (GER Souls).

Semi-Finals: Nash and Church beat Avenell and Harrington; King and Taylor beat Jones and Bland.

Final: Nash and Church beat King and Taylor.

Singles, Quarter-Finals: Lee Kempley (Sportsman A) beat Chris Nash (GER Hot Shotz); Bob Avenell (Chatteris WMC C) beat Scott Carter (GER Turtles); Elliot Stonebrook (Rose & Crown) beat Luke Fage (Station Hotel); Mark Cross (GER Souls) beat Grant Watson (GER B).

Semis: Kempley beat Avenell; Cross beat Stonebrook.

Final: Kempley beat Cross.


John Birch Memorial Cup: Runner-up – Bob Avenell (Chatteris WMC C). Winner – Lee Kempley (Sportsman A).
