March power-lifter Louise Fox came home from the world championships with three wins in three categories and a new world record to complete a brilliant competition.
The event was held over three days and she opened her account on winning form when lifting a new world record of 105 kg for the squat to easily win her weight category, and top the points table for all females of all body weights taking part. Louise lifts in the under 55kg body-weight section.
Day two saw Louise capturing the championship in the bench press, successfully lifting 70kg – just shy of her personal best.
It was her favourite event, the dead-lift, on the day three and she produced an impressive 160kg winning lift, just failing to break the world record when attempting to lift 170kg – with one pass and two fails from the judges.
It was only thanks to her new sponsors York Equipment that Louise was able to compete in the USA, and she has repaid their faith in her ability.
