Three-times world pool champion Andy Lucas travels to the Lakeside next week for the IPA world eight ball championships.
Lucas, who plays at the Club Q in March, is really looking forward to the event playing against the top players from all over the world.
Lucas is seeded to the last 64 and will also be competing in the world championship doubles event partnering fellow international England A team player John Chambers from Burton.
He said: “It’s going to be an exciting event and I am really looking forward to it.”
Local pool player Eric Mohammed will also be competing at the event. Mohammed has qualified through to the event and will start his campaign next Wednesday to try and get one of the last 64 places. Lucas believes if he plays well and takes his chances he is more than capable.
