March, who went into this game one point ahead of second placed Peterborough, move four points clear with an 11th straight win.
In what might be the title decider, Jody Betts continued his prolific goal scoring form as he converted a short corner and scored a penalty flick.
Peterborough got on the scoresheet but Ben Wright deflected in a Matt Bamford reverse stick shot to make it 3-1 at the break.
Peterborough pulled two goals back while defender Ryan Wright was off injured. With Wright back, Betts deflected in two efforts from playmaker Stuart Mills and Adam Graham dribbled into the D to score. Andrew Wright was sent off.
MoM Betts now has 31 goals this season. Next weekend March travel to local rivals Wisbech 3rds, push back 4pm.

March Ladies secured their 11th consecutive win with great teamwork.
Within minutes Louise Minnis passed the ball to Lauren Lakey who slotted it past the goalie. Charlotte Norman was next to score after a pass in the D from Lakey. Lakey, Minnis and Rachel Mottram gave March a 5-0 first half lead.
In the second half March quickly got a short corner. Amy Laws had a strike at the top of D and scored. Huntingdon could not get through March’s defence and after a couple of saves from Coral Nicholson, Laws scored. Minnis with a reverse stick shot and a tap-in bagged a hat-trick.
