FORMER Wisbech Town goalkeeper Mark Ovendale died on Monday in Pontypridd after a battle with cancer.
The 37-year-old began his career at Leverington before joining Wisbech and went on to play for Northampton, Barry (twice), Bournemouth, Luton Town, York and Newport County. He also played for Carmarthen in the Inter-Toto Cup against Finnish side Tampere United 2005.
He was also a keen cricketer and played for Wisbech Town.
