On Saturday Wisbech Wheelers riders and friends travelled to South Wales and took to the boards at the Newport Velodrome where Evie and Lucy MacInerney along with Warren Eve, all 11 years old, were the stars of the show.
In the 250 metre flying lap Evie took first in 22.32 with Lucy on 22.53 and Warren, still in the same second, in 22.74.
Warren took revenge in the scratch race with a win over the girls. In the same event Mat Webster took victory in 16.31 by just one 100th of a sec from Andy Bean on 16.32 and a further three tenths of a sec down was powerful veteran ‘trackie’ Ken Roesner in 16.60.
Bean turned the tables in the team pursuit taking the win along with fellow Wisbech rider, 14-year-old Jacob Shailes and Simon Hardy of King’s Lynn CC.
In the Tuesday evening TT series Richard Eve was quickest over Paul Ashby and Mat Webster had to settle for third.
