Two Fenland ladies won national titles at the NAF Five Star Winter Dressage Championships at the weekend in Gloucestershire.
Evelyn Little became the Petplan Equine Novice Restricted Area Festival Champion on her 6 year old, 17hh, Dutch bred gelding Bindro T, who she has produced herself. She brought him as an unbroken 3 year old and he was backed by another local lady Diana Fisher.
Little (pictured) and “Dino” have been competing in dressage for just over a year and have been very successful. She runs Knights End Equestrian (based at Knights End Farm, March) a livery and dressage training yard.
March rider Kelly Simpson and her nine year old gelding Watch Me, stable name Gary Horse, were runners-up to Little on the Saturday but then went on win the Petplan Equine Preliminary Restricted Area Festival title.
As well as winning her championship class Simpson scooped the Petplan Equine High Achiever Award.
This is for the horse and rider combination who achieves the highest overall percentage score across all Petplan Equine championship classes at this year’s finals.
