Neal bags Vet award

Having been scored on the best three out of five races throughout the Peterborough 5K Grand Prix series March AC scooped four awards.

With over 200 runners taking part in each race Melissa Neal won 1st Vet 35 taking 42nd place overall. Debra Wait won 1st Vet 40 ending in 90th position overall. Maura Brown was 3rd Vet 60 231st overall while Pat Brown won 3rd Vet 70 218th overall.

The highest scorer for the club was Jason Parring 36th overall. Jason also ran the St Neots 10k on Sunday in extreme temperatures and finished in 41 minutes 38 seconds. Ten members of the club also raced in the Nene Valley 5K race on Wednesday, times are yet to be confirmed by NVH.

l Members of Fenland Running Club ran the Mike Barnsdale Memorial 5k Race at the Watersports Centre, Ferry Meadows, Peterborough on Wednesday where the presentation of the Peterborough Grand Prix Series was held.

This series is organised by five of the Peterborough running clubs. Five 5k races have been held at fortnightly intervals and the results of each event were collated to decide the prize winners overall.

The following Fenland members all received awards from the series: Jack Trow 2nd MU20, Ian Milburn 2nd MV65, Rebecca Cousins 3rd Lady overall, Maire Irlam 1st LV45 and Jane Greenwood 2nd LV55.
