Sixteen Fenland Running Club members tackled the hilly two lap course of the Yaxley Runners and Joggers Folksworth 15 mile road race on Sunday.
Recognised locally as a tough course but useful London Marathon preparation, there was a big field of runners. Best performance by FRC runner was Nicole Coughlin who was first lady home for the club and finished in 1.54.02, winning the V35 ladies category.
Despite fair weather, nearly every runner finishing was complaining bitterly about the high winds that had made the hills even harder to run. However, it is a good bet that every runner who vowed “never to run Folksworth again” will be back next year.
