Nun better than Day

Seventeen members of our local running clubs completed the London Virgin Marathon on Sunday.

Eleven Fenland Running Club members were joined by a contingent of almost 30 club supporters who travelled down to cheer them.

First home in an incredible time (as he was in fancy dress as a nun) of 3.17.58 was Kevin Day. Next home was Nicole Coughlin in 3.27.49, just 14 seconds outside the club’s own ladies record.

Six members of March AC took part in the London Marathon on Sunday. First home for the club was Karen Patterson in a time of 3 hours 34 minutes and 50 seconds.

Frances Cooke was 12th overall in her age category completing her 115th marathon in a time of 3.36.54.

l Melissa Neal won the ladies race at Bolton 10k on Sunday morning, in a time of 39.40 over a two lap undulating course.

Taking the lead just after halfway she won by 25 seconds and an overall position of 13th out of 600 entrants.
