Ollie wins regional bronze

Ollie Newton (13) was awarded a bronze medal in the 100m Fly final as Wisbech Swimming Club’s had five qualifers competing at the 2013 East Regional British Age Category Gala at Norwich UEA Sportspark.

Taking part were Beth Dennis, Jack Lane, Newton, Hannah Brown and Abigail Foley. Swimming in a 50m pool, seven personal best times were achieved by Newton and two by Lane. Newton competed in four finals over the four days.

A fantastic team performance as WSC won Round 3 of the Junior Fenland League at the Hudson Sports Centre with 173 points, ahead of Peterborough, Mildenhall, St Neots and Chatteris.

l March Marlins attended the JFL at Newmarket on Saturday gaining two first places, three second places and 11 third places.

Good swims by all, obtaining another 13 PB’s. An outstanding swim by Graham Shaw who smashed another record time in 50m butterfly.
