Paul’s one-off display

THE 1992 2L Stock Car World Champion Paul Licquorice is in action when Stock Car and Banger Racing returns to the Norfolk Arena on Saturday (6.30pm).

Licquorice was the last Wisbech driver to race the World Final and following a retirement of nearly a decade from the formula, in March he turned up for the Clive Grief Memorial. Mo Crowson – whose car Paul used – is on holiday so Licquorice makes another one-off appearance.

Shaun McMillan has been in great form in the Saloons and racing from yellow he will be short odds for a race win. Shaun and Paul will also be joined in action by Ivan Street.

The 2L Bangers hold their penultimate World Qualifier. Richard Maryon is currently the best local driver in the World Series as he sits in second place.

Nicky “Spud” Young has leaped up to joint second in the Entertainer League, where Jason Chilton and Luke Allen are also both well placed. The Predator duo are joined by Tom Chilton and Ricky Twell.

The 1300 Stock Cars complete the action with current points leader John Moat leading the local entry. Also booked in are Dean Moat and Richard Hampshire.
