Wisbech took control in the first 20 minutes but chances went begging from short corners and then a penalty flick was saved by the Sutton keeper.

After this, Sutton seized their chance and Robyn Gribble made the most of a slip pass from Leanne Woodhead to score the opening goal.

Wisbech came out after the break and took the game to Sutton and were rewarded with a goal from Claire Apted. They continued to pile the pressure and took the lead with Apted’s second of the game.

With 10 minutes to go Georgie Dunn sealed Wisbech’s victory when she slotted the ball home. A great win and team performance.

This Saturday Wisbech host Pelicans at Harecroft Road at 1pm.

Wisbech took top position in the Cambridgeshire Premier League with this victory.

They went a goal down in the first 10 minutes but Laura Overland was quick to make a change in formation.

Wisbech never looked back and equalised through a short corner from Overland. The second was neatly built ending with a Louise Sandall conversion.

Gilly Dunn scored the crucial winner. Joey Gomm saved Wisbech a number of times chasing back to make crucial tackles in the defending circle but stand out player of the match was Tina Forder in goal.

Wisbech play third placed Newmarket at home Saturday 4pm.

Wisbech found themselves trailing 2-0 at half time despite dominating the play.

Just after the restart Zoe Forder tapped in a messy goal to pull one back for Wisbech. The good play from Olivia O’Conner (pom) saw Wisbech win a series of short corners and debutante Fiona Hamer Phillip dispatched third time lucky.

The winner came from Daisy Woolmer’s initial shot being deflected on the line into the goal from a Newmarket foot.

A poor first half from Sutton left them trailing 6-0 at the break.

They scored goals from Watling, Shore and Taylor in a good second half but it was too little too late.
