Promotion bid still on

Long Sutton Ladies 4, Peterborough 2nds 0

Long Sutton started slowly letting Peterborough rule the game.

After Leanne Woodhead got injured, Sutton seemed to switch on and soon after they took the lead, with Lachan Read calmly slotting away a penalty flick.

During the second half Sutton won a string of penalty corners. Mel Ludlam flicked the ball goalwards, only to be stopped on the line by a Peterborough leg and accidentally cross the line when the defence tried to clear the ball.

Sutton’s third goal came from Read and fourth from a fantastic solo run by Sophie Hart. Player of the match was Rachel Gadsden with some great attacking play down the wing.

Sutton need to win their last two games and hope that results go their way to gain promotion this season.
