March and Chatteris were both well represented in Huntingdon Piranhas’ team with brother and sister Daniel (11) and Charlotte Riches (15) in the medals at the West Norfolk Open at King’s Lynn, on Sunday.

Charlotte swam to silver and three bronze in her schedule while Daniel had a fantastic gala to win gold and four silvers as well as three personal bests. He won each of his 50 metre races and came second in 100m individual medley. Mason Christy swam four PBs out of five races, despite a lack of training over recent weeks.

Boy’s captain Tom Russell (15) from Chatteris took five medals from six races including silver in his speciality event the breaststroke.

“Tom’s an inspiring captain to the younger swimmers. He takes his duties very seriously, he helps them calm their nerves and he’s recently starting using Facebook to keep in touch with all the team,” said Richard Leech, team manager.
