Riders revel in busy week

THIS was a busy cycling week full of improvements for many Wisbech Wheelers riders.

In the East District Championship ‘10’ on Bank Holiday Monday Wisbech junior, Andy Bean, averaged over 25 mph with a pb of 23.55 and Becky Taylor was close on his heels in 24.05, also a pb.

Lady vet Denese Hallahan, the club’s most prolific racer, recorded a season’s best of 27.31 and veteran Adrian Whiting, a born again TT rider, continued his fight back to pace with 25.00. Then Paul Sims and Mike MacInerney (both having ridden the solo event) partnered each other on the tandem and rounded the course in 21.55.

A day later in the Wisbech Evening Series Karl Belding, Mark Thompson and juvenile, Johnny McClure, all recorded pb’s. Top vet Paul Ashby was fastest as usual and Mike MacInerney, having raced twice the day before, bagged an impressive 23.18.
