Rookies land third regional win


Wisbech based Rookies Netball Club have carried on their winning streak in the Regional Division 3 League.

After being promoted this season as the winners of the Cambridgeshire League, their first match took them away to Cranfield which they lost 38-52. However, after much improved fitness Rookies secured wins in their next three matches, at Brentwood Bears 40-20, at home at the Thomas Clarkson Academy to Eastwood 48-43 and Norfolk United 63-38.

Players of the match: Lucy Penney against Eastwood and Carmen Hannibal-Stewart against Cranfield, Brentwood and Norfolk. Rookies sit third in the table with three matches left to play.

Rookies will be running a coaching centre for 21-25 year olds, which started on Monday (February 24), 8pm-9pm. It costs £10 for six weeks at the Thomas Clarkson Academy, Corporation Road, Wisbech. Contact for details.
