With rain and bad visibility forcing cancellation of the last in the Wisbech Wheelers Tuesday evening TT series three local riders still managed to get a good result at Hull in the Team Swift Open ten mile TT on Sunday with a season’s best.

The 68-year-old Roger Sewell covered the distance in an excellent 22.16, closely followed by fellow vet Adrian Whiting with 22.25 and Lady vet Denese Hallahan recording 27.20.

Denese warmed up the day before with a 28.44 in the ECCA event at Newmarket.

On Thursday in the Hares and Hounds chase on a course from Leverington through Tydd St Giles and Long Sutton to Walpole Highway, the Hares – helped by strong rides from Stuart Webster and Perry Wiffen – held off the stronger Hounds group for the full 20-plus miles.

More riders managed to stay with the Hares group, including Becky Murley.
