Seniors are shining

Fenland Running Club members were in action across the region again on Sunday with 16 racing in Peterborough in the Perkins Great Eastern Run half marathon, one racing in the Coventry half marathon and 12 tackling the first of the Ryston Runners Grand Prix Cross Country races at Shouldham Warren.

With good, cool conditions the Great Eastern Run attracted around 5,000 to the new city centre course. The senior FRC members had particularly good runs with Keith White and Ian Milburn finishing 2nd and 3rd in their Vet 65 category.

In Coventry Sarah Rippon was the sole FRC runner and did herself proud with a personal best time of 2.30.55.

In dappled sun and perfect ground underfoot, FRC runners got amongst the award at the Shouldham 5K XC. Justin Kinsey just missed out with a 4th place in Senior Men but Sean Connolly was 3rd MVet 40, Colin Ferguson was 1st MVet 60 and Sarah Gauvin was 2nd LVet 35.
