Some 13 members of March AC completed the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday.
Geraldine Larham had a sensational run, crossing the finish line in 3 hours 18 minutes, 20 minutes better than the previous personal best, giving her a place of 40th in her age category and 409th lady overall.
Mick Stacey followed in a time of 3 hours 19 minutes (4,337th overall).
Other times were: Tony Daplyn 3.47.44 (10,153rd) Kevin Barnes 3.54.40 (12,075th) Paul Hensby 3.56.05 (12,570th) Sarah Gove 3.57.13 (12,973rd) Frances Cooke 4.08.42, Dawn Veal 4.29.07 (21,551st) Stephen Cowell 4.51.24, Alice Donkin 5.19.20 (31,666th) Sue Ward 5.40.21 (33,904th) Suzanne Orr 6.03.27 (35,525th) Carly Oakley 6.55.36 (37,103rd).
Fenland Running Club turned out with a record number of 13 members amongst 37,675 runners who crossed the finish line.
Nine completed the 26.2 miles in PB times and three others setting their first time ‘standard’. Andrew Plume, Martin Jennings and Gary Bligh all achieved their ‘Holy Grail’ of doing a sub-three hour Marathon.
Star run of the day was by Melanie Trayford who came home in 3:14:50 to smash the existing ladies’ club record by more than six minutes.
