Steel-y PB set by Nathan

The more determined cyclists turned up to Wisbech Wheelers’ Tuesday evening despite the rain which eased enough to allow the race.

The juniors seem to improve weekly whatever the weather and Nathan Steel recorded a new personal best of 23.29 along with Jacob Shailes (14) with a PB of 26.27. Fastest on the night was Richard Eve in 21.58 followed by Mat Webster and Mike MacInerney with 22.29 and 22.44 respectively.

On Saturday in the Eastern Counties open ‘10’ near Newmarket veterans, Denese Hallahan and Adrian Whiting were both rewarded with a season’s best of 26.58 and 22.32 respectively and on Sunday in the East District open ‘10’ at King’s Lynn the overall winner was Daniel Bloy of Lynn CC in 21.36 and the Wisbech contingent were led in by Webster, Eve and Andy Bean.

Born again rider, 72-year-old John Brown continued his steady pursuit of past performances after a 36-year lay off with a season’s best of 26 minutes exactly for 10 miles.
