Surrey clocks winning birds

Steve Surrey of Wisbech led the way in the Wisbech & District SRF Club’s Basingstoke event, with four birds dropping together to take the first four positions.

The first bird over the computer scanner was a Hen bird of the Roger Lowe strain on 1390 ypm, around 50 mph. In second spot was a Walter Doxt Blue w/f Hen that had a 2nd fen federation in the first event of the season on 1389.9. Third was a Blue’ Leo Van Rijn which as 3x 2nd clubs and 2x2 Fen Federation positions to its credit in top completion on 1389.3. Fourth spot went to a Jos Thorne hen on 1388.9. Mick & Daley Godfrey of Walsoken took the last of the diplomas in 5th & 6th spots. Stewart McCurry of Walsoken won the single bird Nomination with a bird out of his top stock bird ‘The 28’, sire of countless winners.
