NENE Valley Basketball, based at Stanground Academy in Peterborough, is now looking to launch an offshoot of the club for 13 to 17-year-olds based at March’s Neale-Wade Community College.
Initially there will be four taster sessions starting on Saturday and running through to half-term.
These sessions will run for one hour from 10.30am. If the sessions are well supported then the new club will be launched from Saturday, November 3, with the sessions running 10.30am-12pm.
There was a Fenland Falcons club based at the college previously but it folded four years ago.
The club thinks that basketball interest is still strong in the area and hope that the taster sessions will provide the evidence that a new club is viable and sustainable.
The sessions cost £2 each week. Fenland District Council has provided a grant to help with the set up and start up cost of the new club. For club details go to www.nenevalleybasketball.com
