Fenland runner Becky Cousins, competing for West Norfolk, got her first track season off to a good start at the weekend.
In the 3000m she set a seasonal best in 11.02, and is hoping to improve this later this year to get near her personal best.
She led from start to finish but lost timing with two laps to go.
She added: “I felt much stronger than last year and didn’t really know how I would go with it being my first race since doing duathlons.”
She also competed in the 200m and 400m relay for the club and also took part in her first time steeplechase, finishing in second spot and taking a place in the UK rankings.
